All About Omen
They thought they were searching for a missing girl. But amateur adventurers Gwen, Tobias, and Quentin must darken many dangerous doorways to unravel a deeper mystery—and some doors cannot be closed once opened. From the producers of Girl in Space comes Omen, a fantasy audio drama featuring spellcraft, swashbuckling, and more than a few sinister secrets.
What is Omen?
Omen is an award-winning serial audio drama set in an expansive but approachable “low” fantasy setting. Its first season follows a group of young adventurers on a quest to solve a kidnapping while simultaneously being swept up in a diabolical conspiracy.
Each episode begins with a content warning and a cold open scene, followed by the show's theme music. The story progresses through character dialogue and action sound effects, with musical scene transitions indicating a passage of time. Each episode acts as a chapter to the overarching story and ends on a cliffhanger that teases the next episode.
Season one of Omen includes a short prologue and 12 full episodes that last an average of 30 to 40 minutes each.
Is Omen for Me?
Omen features positive, relationship-driven storytelling delivered through inclusive and relatable dialogue without relying (too heavily) on high fantasy tropes. The show’s tone is exciting, perilous, friendly, and smarmy—all brought to life by a diverse cast of phenomenal voice actors.
The story of Omen grows more ominous and complex as its mysteries are unraveled, though darker plot elements are juxtaposed by the warm, light-hearted antics of the main characters as they develop and grow closer through their harrowing adventures.
If you’re a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, or book series such as Six of Crows, the Founders Trilogy, or The Wheel of Time, Omen might be right up your alley!
Content Warnings
Omen maintains a clean (PG-13) rating, but is intended for an adult audience. The show features fantasy violence, occasional coarse language, and scenarios that might be considered disturbing. The story touches upon mature topics such as human trafficking, systemic inequality, violence, and death.
Each episode begins with a content warning, but parents may wish to listen to the first episode to get a feel for whether the material is appropriate for their children.
Release Schedule
Omen releases new episodes every 2 weeks, with its season one premiere on Sunday, June 6th 2021 and a planned finale release on Sunday, November 7th 2021. Creator and Director Tim Krause plans to write and release a number of bonus episodes exclusive to Omen’s supporters on Patreon before starting on the script for Omen, season two.
Full transcripts of each episode are provided for free on omencast.com.

About the Creator
Tim Krause (he/him) is the writer, director, and audio editor of Omen. He is co-owner of Write Now, LLC. and has helped edit and produce both The Write Now Podcast and Girl in Space. Omen is Tim’s first solo podcasting project, with his partner Sarah Rhea Werner acting as Executive Producer.
The idea for Omen began within a Pathfinder 1E tabletop role playing game Tim ran for his friends in 2015. After nearly four years of campaigning, Tim decided to adapt his Game Master notes into an audio drama and began writing the season one script in the spring of 2019. A year later, Omen was cast, recorded, and scored. By spring of 2021, editing was nearing completion and Omen was ready to launch.
When he isn’t writing or editing, Tim enjoys cooking, playing video games, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with his three-legged cat, Momo.
Representation
The creators of Omen believe that representation is vital to storytelling, and we are proud to feature a cast of diverse backgrounds, abilities, gender identities, and sexualities. We want to create stories that positively and prominently represent people of color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We are working to be a platform for all voices, especially those who are marginalized.
