Omen Presents: Someone Dies In This Elevator

Transcript

Hello, friends! I'm Tim Krause, creator of Omen, and welcome to another special spooky edition of Omen Presents! We're busy working on our second season of swashbuckling fantasy adventures. But around this time of year, I always enjoy listening to the many, MANY great horror audio dramas out there. That's why, for all five weeks in October, I thought it'd be fun to highlight episodes from five incredible horror shows made by my podcasting friends. I really hope you'll love listening to them as much as I do.

For the second week of October, I'm very happy to finally feature one of Tal Minear's many amazing projects. I don't think it's controversial to say that Tal is a pillar of the indie podcasting community. They are the creator of the fantastic audio drama "Sidequesting" (which I'll probably be featuring on Omen Presents in the future), as well as sci-fi audio dramas "What Will Be Here?" and "Falling Forward". You can also hear Tal in a plethora of other great shows, both as a voice actor and a sound designer. But more than that, Tal has been a strong voice for indie podcasters--both as an encourager and a mentor, but also as an advocate for social change and creative integrity within the industry.

That's why it's my honor to feature Tal's incredibly unique horror anthology, "Someone Dies in This Elevator". The show title tells you everything you need to know about this audio fiction. In each episode, someone literally dies in an elevator. Who, why, and how this comes about varies wildly between each story--with new characters, a new plot, and a new writer for each episode. This one-of-a-kind feature makes "Someone Dies in This Elevator" even more entertaining to listen to, and you'll be biting your nails wondering when the inevitable is going to happen.

The anthology is helmed by Tal, with the help of a small army of contributing writers and voice actors--most of whom are prominent members of the indie audio fiction community in their own right. Each season consists of thirteen episodes, with narrative microfiction stories released in between. In fact, season two of "Someone Dies in This Elevator" begins releasing bi-weekly episodes tomorrow, October 10th. So I strongly encourage you to visit SDITEpod.com to check out all of season one and be sure to like and subscribe wherever you listen!

The story you're about to hear is the ninth episode of "Someone Dies in This Elevator" season one. Usually this is where I give a little background on what you're about to hear, but you already know someone's going to die in an elevator. So without further ado, Omen Presents "Legend" from "Someone Dies in This Elevator". Happy Halloween and until next we meet, fair winds and following seas!
