Omen Presents: Hannahpocalypse

Transcript

Hello, friends! I'm Tim Krause, creator of Omen, and welcome back to Omen Presents--a between-season series that features episode spotlights from my audio drama friends that you're really going to enjoy while we're busy working on season two. If you love Omen and want to support us, you can listen to our new 2-hour anthology--Apocryphal Accounts--by either becoming a patron at patreon.com/omenpodcast or by making a $5 donation at omencast.com. But the best way to support Omen is to share our show with your friends and family. Thank you so much for listening and thank you for your love and encouragement!

So it's been a slow two weeks since returning from our big convention trip. I've had a tough time catching up with work and making time to rest and replenish my energy. I'm learning that traveling and big social events are way more draining for me than I thought. A few other podcasters I've spoken with since then feel the same way, so I'm trying to be kind to myself and allow the time and space needed to fully recover.

But there's no need to worry. I can never stay away from working on Omen for very long, and the writing has been really rewarding so far. I've noticed each episode of season two is averaging four or five shorter scenes, with more characters and side plots than season one. This makes for a much more complex story structure, with some unexpected themes emerging. And I'm having a lot of fun writing dialogue for voice actors whose cadence and rhythm I can now hear in my head, as opposed to just for their characters. I'm really looking forward to working with my friends in the cast again once writing wraps up.

One friend of the show I've known for a very long time is fellow audio drama podcaster Damian Szydlo, creator of the incredible cyberpunk audio drama Cybernautica. Damian has been hard at work on his latest project, Hannahpocalypse--a fourth wall-breaking hopepunk comedy/horror set in the post apocalypse. The story follows Hannah--or rather, the sentient voice of Hannah trapped inside her own undead body--as she navigates a killbot infested wasteland as the world's last remaining zombie.

As with all of Damian's work, Hannahpocalypse is well written, well acted, and has great sound design. If you've been looking for a funny and well-crafted horror serial to fall in love with, then I strongly urge you to download Hannahpocalypse today. To find out more about all of Damian's excellent work, visit redfathom.com! He just remastered the first episode of Hannahpocalypse so I'm really excited to share it with you all! And without further ado, Omen presents "Meet Hannah", episode one of "Hannahpocalypse". And until next we meet, fair winds and following seas!
