Hello, friends and happy holidays! I'm Tim Krause, creator of Omen, and welcome back to Omen Presents--a between-season series that features episode spotlights from my audio drama friends that you're really going to enjoy while we're busy working on season two.

If you love Omen and want to support us, our 2-hour season one anthology--Apocryphal Accounts--is now only $3 on Apollo! Apollo is an awesome new audio fiction app that helps connect fans with great new shows and gives audio drama creators like me a platform that caters exclusively to great audio fiction. $3 is the lowest price Apocryphal Accounts will ever be, so if you haven't already, please grab it for yourself or an Omen fan in your life on the Apollo Podcasts app before January 9th, 2023. For season two, I'm beginning to craft the big mid-point adventure for our heroes. In season one, the gang ventured to the bottom of the ocean and discovered an otherworldly jungle. In season two, the gang is scouring a long-forgotten catacomb in search of a way to defeat their nemesis--and I wouldn't be surprised if they ran into one or two undead friends.

It's been a lot of fun delving into Omen's more supernatural settings and characters. I purposefully wrote season one as a more grounded fantasy--with fewer magic and extraplanar creatures--so that the story could focus on and develop the more relatable main characters. But now that Omen has familiarized us with magic and pirates and demons, we get to branch out into a whole new world of high fantasy staples--including goblins, thieves guilds, gladiator arenas, and even a few zombies! Who knows--maybe by season three we'll actually meet our first dragon!

Speaking of the supernatural, lately I've really been enjoying listening to DASH--a supernatural noir mystery audio drama about an openly gay private eye in 1940s Los Angeles. The show itself is based on the celebrated graphic novels of the same name by writer Dave Ebersole and illustrator Delia Gable. Whether you read the comics or start listening to the audio fiction adaptation, DASH has an incredibly engaging story and characters that will keep you coming back for more. Plus, the podcast soundtrack is absolutely perfect. If you're into noir detective stories, cursed Egyptian mummies, and steamy romance scenes, you're absolutely going to love DASH. You can find all iterations of DASH at dashthecomic.com.

Dave and his team are currently working on the next round of audio drama installments in DASH's first volume, "The Case of the Mysterious Zita Makara", where detective Dash Malone is quickly in over his head as a new job unravels into supernatural mystery and murder. So without further ado, Omen presents chapter five of "The Case of the Mysterious Zita Makara" from DASH. And until next we meet, fair winds and following seas!
